Compared with infrared heating, high-frequency heating and other heating methods, it has different characteristics. Microwaves can penetrate deep into the interior of an object, and heat is generated from the material itself during heating, without relying on heat conduction, heating inside and outside at the same time. Microwaves have a short wavelength and are easy to concentrate and protect. The advantages of microwave heating are: high thermal efficiency, energy saving, and fast heating speed.
The application of microwave energy is combined with other disciplines, and many new edge disciplines are being formed, such as microwave medicine, microwave biology, microwave chemistry and so on.
The heating time is generally a few minutes; the heating is uniform, and the temperature difference between inside and outside is small because it does not rely on heat conduction; when used in food processing, it is clean and hygienic, neither polluting the food nor the environment, and does not destroy the nutrients of the food.
The special frequencies for microwave heating are 915±25MHz, 2450±50MHz, 5800±75MHz and 22125±125MHz. But 915MHz and 2450MHz are commonly used during application.
